I first created the character Nar'eth for Dragon*Con 2002. Since then, she's been recreated three times. Each time, the costume and make-up has been the collaborative work of a number of people, most importantly the incredibly talented Andre Frietas of AFX Studios (who's work can be seen in such films as Kalifornia and Dinotopia). Four-hour airbrush make-up sessions, contacts that blind me, and a leather and steel corset that makes breathing impossible have given me an appreciation for what Gigi Edgely and other Farscape actors have endured to bring alien personae to life. Below are just very a few shots of Nar'eth and the process of becoming her. In the weeks to come, many more images will be added, along with an extensive costuming page. Believe or not, this all began because I lost a bet...

From Dragon*Con 2004 (Atlanta, GA; September 5th):

Sorry these aren't better. It was very late, I was very exhausted, and the lighting conditions were eema (hence the apparent, but not actual, lack of shading). The major addition to the costume this year was the pusle-pistol holster on Nar'eth's weapons/utility belt:

And this last one is actually from last year's Dragon*Con, but I can't resist it's evil cuteness: Nar'eth meets Hello Cthulhu!

More to Come!
